The driving force behind this interior design is the vital necessity to preserve cultural traditions through new forms. The project is inspired on the exuberant environment and architecture of Brazil. Tree trunks from the rain forest inspired the furniture design that defines the sleep, social, dine and bath spaces, which are visually connected and create various possibilities of perspective.
Traditional muxarabi patterns, abstracted on the walls and woven with wood laths, recall the landscape of Rio de Janeiro. The shape of the windows recalls Brazilian modern architecture.
The split-complementary scheme is based on the blue hue, the dominant color of traditional colonial tiles. The yellow-orange colors the wood structures. Both yellow-orange and red-orange LED bulbs are placed in between trunk-shaped elements for light and color contrast.
